I am learning a lot about blogs. They take time. You have to care for them regularly. You have to learn all sorts of new lingo and abbreviations. Sometimes they wet on the carpeting. It really does feel like having a pet.
Anyway, I have been "tagged." At first I thought this was some sort of violation, but it turns out it's a good thing.
I've been tagged by Kindred Hearts--she's my amazing wife! Here's how it works: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. You need to tag others and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!
1. If I could go back and change anything about my life, I wouldn't change one thing. Ya, I've been stupid at times, I am somewhat disorganized, I definitely procrastinate (my wonderful wife suffers), I don't really do too many man projects and I am probably too busy because of some of the above facts. But through the ups and downs of high school, college (etc.), I have met and married the most amazing woman in the world, become the father of three great kids and I am employed at the greatest "job" this world could offer.
2. I like to eat sandwiches. Most of you will think this a ridiculous fact. The older I get, the more I like my sandwiches to have tons of veggies on them. That is random.
3. In the last 22 months I have run over 2,200 miles. I flipped a switch and became a marathoner. My next one is May 20. You can check out the marathon at www.cellcombreenbaymarathon.com.
4. I married my high school sweetheart. We were friends for a couple years before we started "dating" 19 years ago. She has changed my whole life! God has used her sense of justice and fairness to show my his. I love her hard work, her loyalty, her love for her family and her beauty that flows out of her gentle and quiet spirit. She's my best friend.
5. I am sick to death of all the Jesus Junk in this world. Clever bumper stickers, bracelets, weak CDs, and even tattoos. They're all lame. What if we identified ourselves like Jesus told us to: "They will know you are Christians by your LOVE." Unfortunately (but not always!), the people with the most Jesus Junk have the least love. That's twisted. I want more love, and less junk.
6. I faked my own appendicitis attack. My sisters had all had various ectomies (usually of the tonsil variety). They got visits in the hospitals and lots of little gifts. So my stomach ache got exaggerated (like WAY exaggerated) to the point of me getting my appendix removed. Weird. The doc kept saying, "Your white blood count is not elevated," and other such qualifiers. Oh well. I got some sweet stuffed animals out of the deal (I was about 13).
7. I'll take snow and seasons over hot and humid any day of the year. I have lived in Florida. It stinks. Give me 35 and windy (that's a great day for a run!) on a May morning. I don't care. I can always put on a jacket. Blymie.
And now the hard part. I don't know 7 people with blogs yet. I suppose I can't re-tag Nikki. I tag:
adelphos jason
amy lu (She already did this, so just imagine that it was because I tagged her.)
That's all I can do. Someday I will have blog friends. For now, this is all you get.

Great facts! It's good to get to know you better!
You know, there are more people in blogland that you know... but they're all girls.
My hubby has been talking about getting a blog for some time now. I'm going to forward your web address to him, maybe it will be the spark of inspiration he needs....
Oh, and I totally did the meme because you tagged me....
You really faked an appendicits attack and they took it out!?!?!? How bizzar!!
Take your time with the whole blog land thing. I know it can be way overwhelming at first (I'm new at it too) but you'll get the hang of it and you'll be blogging like crazy in no time!!
Wow, what siblings will do for attention:) too funny!
I'm enjoying getting to know you and you wife better through your blogs! keep it up!
Thanks, to all for your encouraging words. Hello Jessica and Heather.
amy lu: what is a meme? Should I understand this? I assume it refers to the 7 random facts that were all about "me-me." Please explain.
